As one of the three pillars of our organisation’s activities, we provide a forum for the exchange of information amongst the individuals and organisations that support our work.
On July 2, 2026, GSTEM-CPP held its first networking event of the year online, bringing together 21 participants from diverse backgrounds and industries—from students to university career advisors, company owners, and gender equality advocates, ranging in age from their 20s to 70s.
The event featured two inspiring speakers from our partner companies: Isono-san from Takenaka Manufacturing and Tashiro-san, a business owner at Bunri Inc. They shared their personal career journeys, workplace environments for women, and organizational initiatives to support work-life balance.
In the second half, participants split into four discussion groups to explore “Women’s Career Development” and “Work-Life Balance,” sharing their insights and questions with the full group.
Key Takeaways from Participants:
“I gained perspective on how smaller companies approach women’s careers differently from larger corporations.”
“I realized how important it is to understand different viewpoints—such as those who take parental leave and those who support them.”
“Women often prioritize expanding their capabilities over climbing the corporate ladder.”
“This event made me reconsider my own career path and future goals.”
“I discovered the value of trust-building and cooperation in smaller organizations.”
“I became aware of career options and pathways I didn’t know existed.”
“It was eye-opening to see how supporting male parental leave benefits women’s
work environments.”
Future Topics Requested by Participants:
- How to build careers while managing childcare responsibilities
- Women recruitment strategies; addressing and overcoming harassment
- Discussion session for those considering academic careers
